BassTech Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 Can anyone recommend some good, free formatting software? My memory card is corrupt and Windows 7 format isn't playing ball. I am looking for something that will do a FULL format as in bit-by-bit by writing and erasing 0s and 1s.
Guest TheLibrarian Posted March 9, 2012 Posted March 9, 2012 I can't find the link on the HP site; HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool description, Peripherals Downloads List By 30 Day Change | PCWorld | PCWorld This is very good at formatting USB memory drives. Alternatively use diskpart, select the appropriate disk and issue the "clean all" command. Diskpart will not show any progress bars etc. it will either work or issue an error. If you are extremely stuck, try a live Ubuntu CD.
