Did anyone watch this on Sunday? I caught up with it last night and it is incredible what went on behind the scenes!

 

Flavio Briatore comes across as a managers nightmare to work with, during his tenure he literally picked the team and made the subs.

 

If you are a football fan it is worth the watch, should be on iPlayer.

To be fair the two guys that ran the club the season they won the Championship were really good, stayed out of things and let Neil do his thing. Before that was terrible, it was just fascinating watching Flavio sitting there saying "I don't like this, go and tell him to change it!"

I know, the best bit was with Sousa where he got his assistant to make the sub, and then sacked him because he dared tell the press he'd sold out his best player. Almost makes you wonder what it's like at Chelski

Warnock didn't quit....he was fired. Much to my disappointment and amazement.

 

As a QPR fan, I am interested in other's views on this. The film showed the merry-go-round that we've been through as fans. Even though Tango & Cash (Briatore and Ecclestone) saved us from liquidation, there was still a feeling amongst us that we were just a millionaire's plaything. This is what the film really showed....

 

Briatore - "4-4-2,4-4-2,4-4-2,4-4-2"

 

He clearly wanted to be a manager....and rumours of him meddling in team affairs were always rife.

 

I must admit....I even shed a couple of tears towards the end, as the good memories came flooding back! That's WHY I love my club!

It was nice at the end when you won promotion and the FA didn't go with the point deduction, the two guys that took over from Briatore I thought did a fantastic job.

 

I have heard that some owners like to get involved but I was shocked when I actually watched it happen, I started to wonder how many other clubs put up with this.

Warnock had his hands tied by Tango & Cash not investing in players, before selling to Fernandes. Amit Bhatia and Fernandes have fought all season to get us in a reasonable position, but I still think sacking Warnock was a backward step.

 

I expect us to get relegated now...as 2 from the bottom 5 are bound to climb above us.

 

That won't stop me going to Bolton on Saturday to support the boys! 3 points we REALLY need!

I watched it, really enjoyed it, had me in fits of laughter some times, apart from being glad I didn't work for Briatore, i felt that the sporting director was a 2 faced guy that couldn't wait to stab the managers and players in the back and go running to Briatore.

 

My favourite part has to be one of the first games last season when the 2 directors told him to stop shouting abuse at the players or sit somewhere else, class.

Gianni Paladini - He's actually a pretty decent bloke. The only problem was that he brought Tango & Cash to the club, so was always beholden to them. I met him quite a few times when I worked in a casino in London. His heart was really in the club, to the extent that he re-mortgaged his house to stop us from going under.

My cameo never made it to the final cut I was always leaving the shot thank god...

 

As for tickets, even we have to have a valid ticket for the seat that we might sit in on the terraces, so I prefer to take my place up on the TV gantry it's bloody cold up there in winter but it's definitely the best seat in the house and I'll be up there come rain or shine

Yeah...it was pretty unflattering...but all I can give is my impression of him. Seemed genuine enough when talking to me about the club, and what he wanted for the future.

 

And all that took place about 2 years before the Tango and Cash came in.

Very interesting. Clubs still forget the thing they need most is time with a Manager. All we get now is a merry go round. No gaffers have any real emotional investment in a club.

 

As a Derby fan I'm pleasantly surprised they've given Cloughie a fair crack to get things right, and not dump him. Sadly this is not prevelent in any league, and frankly for Nigel Clough if he was anyone else he'd have been out months ago.
