MattDLEA Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Bit of a strange one, windows 7 server 2008R2 and Ranger. Doing a test as I have updated the video driver on one machine to see if it works. It has been reported to me that the machine locks its self after about 5 mins? requioering the user to alt ctrl del and reenter password. It has not done this before. This driver update is needed though to get movie maker to work. Been in control panel Power options and under sleep its never > turn off display is after 15 mins. But this is the same as all the other computers. Screen savers are not activated. ~ Any other options I should be looking at?
Michael Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 In a vanilla 2008 R2 network, you can control power settings via GPO: Computer Config > Preferences > Control Panel Settings > Power Options Especially for whiteboard connected PCs, it's recommended to use High Performance or a custom power policy.
DT2 Posted March 5, 2012 Posted March 5, 2012 Power saving options...... Real pain in the backside when you forget them and try to leave your system updating overnight..... DT
