andrew_91090 Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 (edited) Ive got a small and rather annoying problem with a netbook I have. The problem is it won't shut down then you tell it to shut down it just restarts, its using windows xp. Its an Asus. Ive tried using the CMD to restart and then shutdown to shut it down, System restore, check disk, disabled AV software and I think ive tried more, but can't remember thought i could put up with it but i cant take it anymore! Michael Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 It could be a registry related problem or possibly malware. Can't you re-image this netbook?
andrew_91090 Posted February 21, 2012 Author Posted February 21, 2012 I've scanned it with numerous different scanners and nothing has shown and I can't really re-image it as it's hooked up to work
tumbleweed Posted February 21, 2012 Posted February 21, 2012 Check power management settings on the wired and wifi network cards. I've seen it occasionally, where these are waking a machine as soon as it powers down. Worth a try.
