Dear Customer,

As of July 2012, Microsoft is changing its volume licensing pricing policy in the European Union / European Free Trade Association (EU / EFTA). From this period Microsoft transactional partners (distributors and resellers) will be charged at a rate based on the location of the partner’s channel agreement.

This change in pricing policy is due to currency divergence in EU / EFTA countries that use the Euro and those that do not. In particular, the continuing currency divergence between the British Pound (GBP), the Swiss Franc (CHF) and the Euro has led to this decision by Microsoft and, consequently, price changes are anticipated in the UK and Switzerland based on the prevailing currency exchange rate.

The following Microsoft volume licensing agreements are affected by the coming changes;

Enterprise Agreement, Enterprise Subscription Agreement, Select Plus, Enrolment for Education Solutions (EES), Open Value & Open Value Subscription, SPLA, ISVR and Dynamics via order central.

Which in English means? I'm a bit slow this morning!

"oh sh*t, we really dropped one by letting schools enrol on the cheaper EES agreement and now our revenue stream is on the fudging floor - quick, think of a complicated excuse to raise the price and get more revenue coming in..."

Basicly means the cost will be the same across the EU. I think it will happen with a lot of vendors as you can buy an HP switch from europe for 2/3s the price of an HP switch in the uk.
