Whenever I run Chrome it ends up with multiple instances of itself running in the background even if I have only one tab open. I've included a screen grab of task manager to demonstate. It can get worse than what I have shown here as well. Anyone got a fix or any ideas?

[ATTACH]12969[/ATTACH] I looked in to this myself a while back and if I remember correctly, there is an instance for each plugin that you use, plus an instance for each tab you have open. I don't think there's a way around this, it's just the way it works...

Chrome runs 1 process as like the "manager" process, then 1 process per tab and in addition it can run additional processes to isolate plugins and certain web page elements like videos, applets and even flash objects. Its a pretty cleaver way to improve browsing security.

Chrome runs 1 process as like the "manager" process, then 1 process per tab and in addition it can run additional processes to isolate plugins and certain web page elements like videos, applets and even flash objects. Its a pretty cleaver way to improve browsing security. Aye, not only for security but for stability. One Tab or Addin crashing won't take down the entire browser.
