Any one got any expercience with a Intel Modular Server (MFSYS25)

 

This is the model with 14x 2.5 inch hard drives

 

We are now ruuning out of space (we only have 146gb models)

 

Anyone know if we can just take a hard drive out and replace it with another? the hard drives are setup as RAID5

 

Also do the hard drives have to be the same model and firmware? (If that the case, hope not, it a big job for half term, and that if they agree to upgrade all the drives)

I doub't it - even if you had a larger drive i'm pretty sure the raid will still only use 146gb

We've just bought one of these with 14x 2.5" 600GB disks. For the price I think it's a great box.

 

Back to your question - how is your storage configured? How many storage pools do you have and what are the virtual drive configurations within these pools? Are all your disks currently the same? How many hot spares do you have configured?
