Exchange - Outlook Email Signatures

Does anyone know how I can have centralized control of our email signatures through exchange ?

 

Is there something in exchange what I can setup that will display a signature on the bottom of every email ?

As in a disclaimer type thing?

 

You can setup a transport rule (I think its transport rules) Which will add additional text to the bottom of an email.

Agreed Exchange 2010 would do the job

 

Ive also used Code 2 exchange for 2003 which was fantastic, internal and external disclaimers, will insert one disclaimer per email if you wish to, etc) trying this on ex 2010 to see if its worth the upgrade.

Yes, as far as I can tell - the same as Ive posted for Exchange 2010 will still work on 2007.

You can do Transport Rules on Exchange 2007.

Yep, really easy to set up in exchange 2007, that was where i set my first one up and it juwt migrated over to 2010 when that was deployed, it add a disclaimer to the bottom of the email.

I have just last week I did this. We are using Exchange 2003, but I did not want go go for upgrading / rebuilding as I was only given a weeks warning of the need of a new unique disclaimer for the school, previously this was done by the LEA's relay. We need this because we became an academy on 1st April (sadly not a joke). Anyway I built a Linux server with Postfix & Amavis-new to act as a relay between Exchange 2003 and the LEA. Fortunately adding a new server is quite easy now that we have invested in a virtual server system and the software setup cost us nothing but time.

 

Postfix can trigger Amavis as mail passes through it. Amavis then can do among other things spam filter, virus check and add a disclaimer. I decided that I would spam filter and virus check all outgoing mail (incoming is done by the LEA, soon to be done by Postfix as well when I have a little time) just in case we ended up having something go wrong in school and we end up spamming the world, at least I would know and be able to do something about it.

We use exclaimer here. The signature is strapped to the email upon leaving the server along with a generic disclaimer. I have created a custom signature that includes the school identity along with staff name and position plus contact details and hyperlink (pulled from AD). It is also handy for various marketing campaigns we have in mind. It's completely customisable and quite a powerful tool (over and above native exchange offerings). They do offer educational discounts. It was a viable choice for us as we are a relatively small school and I am only strapping the signature to staff emails sent externally. It gives a more effective, professional look.
