Using the cleanup tool now. Seems to be taking a while on the 'Collecting Logs' phase.

I am now getting the fail screen that says "Another Installation is already in progress"
-
This is a fresh install on a few machines, just using the online / standalone installer.

Sorry I'm all over the place at the moment. I've tried used my account and the domain administrator account. I have used both the online and standalone installer and no luck.

Gentlemen, I don't suppose anyone has come across an error of "Installation did not succeed" when trying to install .Net Framework 4? When I click on the log file link it just crashes. I've used the Microsoft Fixit tool to remedy the problem but no avail. Is there anything else I can try?

Information and Images published to desktop
Edwardjr replied to Edwardjr's topic in How do you do....it?
Thanks Sted, I thought as much as about the excel data. I will look into this more. -
Hi all, As the title says how you do (if at all) publish data/images to your desktop for staff to see? I normally use BGInfo for the bit of text here and there but I've been asked to publish detention lists from an excel spreadsheet to all desktops every Thursday and a another list on Fridays, then the normal desktop to resume for the start of the next week. Is there anyway of doing this, we are using Windows 7 with Server 2008 R2. Much appreciated. Edward

Hi everyone, I'm wondering if I can get any suggestions for a software package that can be used for facility booking. We've had a new Business Manager start at our school and he's looking to let out the Hall, Astro Turf & Sports gym and he wants a system he and others can use to book it out, manage it and possibly produce invoices etc. He's not interested in Outlook calendars or Roombooking System. I currently use outlook calendars to book our our IT rooms and the front office use the same for their meeting rooms, would this be good enough with some convincing? Edward

Very true, I know some schools including ours have banned phones all together!

We are using our LEA filter and there are no options within regarding google.
-
He just doesn't want those kind of images to be displayed which is somewhat frustrating, as it's a bit too specific to do.

Morning gentlemen. I have been asked by the headteacher to restrict what can be seen on image searches (google, bing etc) after he "tested" by typing in "sex" and was horrified by what he saw, please see attachment! - I'm not too sure if he is being overly picky. Currently safe search is enabled and set to strict and enforced to both staff and students Is there a way to filter the images further or will it be a case of blocking google / bing image search all together? Thanks in advanced.

I was just wondering, how you guys give out new year 7 student user accounts? Currently we print off the details on to sticky labels and then give to tutors to stick in the back of diaries and I'm starting thinking this is quite a cumbersome way of doing this (creating the labels and the fact they can be compromised easily by others) So, how do you do it? I look forward to your responses, Edward

Nevermind, got it working!

Local install of SIMS - Using remotely?
Edwardjr replied to Edwardjr's topic in How do you do....it?
Satellite install it is then! Thanks for all of your replies. -
Hello all, Just a quick question regarding remote access and sims; My line manager has taken up timetabling for our school and he has requested that he has a laptop with sims installed locally so he can use from home. Is this at all possible? We used to have terminal servers for staff to gain remote access however as of now we have no remote access facilities. Is this possible at all - SIMS installed locally and a remote connection to be made with our SQL server while he is at home? Any suggestions are much appreciated.
