is this possible in SIMS?

I did write a routine a few years ago that created a CTF file from a csv file of student details so yes it is possible. Unfortunately I don't have it lying around anymore but I do recall it being relatively straightforward.

Is this a joke? SIMS (and all MIS that I know of) has a routine to export from the MIS to CTF.

Not a joke matt40k. The routine was written because I was passed a csv file of student details and they needed inputting into SIMS. Converting the csv into CTF format and importing was the quickest option

Yer, CTF seems a pretty nice format.

Would go back to the school who sent you the CSV and ask for a CTF. Pretty sure it's a legal requirement to send a CTF within a specific time frame.

new yr 6 students.

County will send an ATF file via the schools2schools website.

Are you looking for getting the new year 6 details in for transition days etc, before they start in year 7?

I would keep the details out of sims and use the csv as a mail merge data source for word until the ATF turns up.

OK. thanks.

Do you happen to know if the ATF and the data sent by LA are from the same source? i.e. why can't they send the ATF earlier if they already supply us the data of new students a month before?
