LGFL 2.0 Issues: Connection to Network

Hi! Can anyone help?

 

Here at work we upgraded our network to LGFL 2.0 recently. Everything was working fine until we try to add new devices to the network or re-add old devices.

 

It seems that any device we tried to add from now (after 2.0 swtich over) on or re-add to the network will assign 169.x.x.x.x address and does not see the DHCP at all. We have tried manually assigning these devices to our DNS but the ip address is still 169.x.x.x.x.

No LGFL2.0 experience, but here's where I'd start:

 

0)One or many clients affected? Have you tried a different port/cable?

 

1) Where is your DHCP Server? Is it up and is DHCP running.

2) What VLAN is your DHCP Server on? What VLAN is your client connected to? If you have multiple VLANs is a DHCP/UDB helper service running on your core switch/router, and is it configured correctly.

 

Last question: Where do those DNS server IP's come from?

Problem solved! It was the DHCP settings not configured properly to our environment (had default settings due to Virgin Media configuration while setting it up). Thanks for your help.
