Students on report

I`ve been asked if there is anyway we could get students that are on reports name to pop up on the today screen for teachers that teach them, I`ve set up a udf for students that are on report, is this possible?

 

does anyone have any ideas of anything else that could be done?

I have just been asked about something similar to do with children at risk.

 

IIRC the message facility in SIMS is there to allow SEN Co-ordinators and SEN staff to leave messages about meetings and work with students ...

 

It can be used to allow staff to do similar to the whole school ,but it means making everyone a SENCO ... and they may have access to materials they shouldn't have access to ... DPA strikes again (and so does common sense).

 

I have yet to find an alternative method other than using user defined fields, but getting staff to scroll to the bottome before doing things can be a pain. Shame you can't stick a few of them right at the very top.

If you're using lesson register in SIMS, there is a nice new feature coming in the May release.

 

Students on report cards are highlighted in registers and you can easily drill down to the report card and add comments

Another reaso for me to persuade staff to go for it then.

You no longer have to be a SENCO in order to create a message.

From the May release you can place UDFs in any panel.

Anything that you can create in the report generator can be scheduled to appear on users' home pages.

From May you can order your own home page.

Is that in sims or lesson monitor?

Lesson Register is in SIMS.

Lesson Monitor is being outphased by Lesson Register in SIMS.net which will hopefully provide all the functionality of LM including offline working.
