featured_spectre Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 the 2 blokes in the back dancing crack me up! lol
laserblazer Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 On my last first aid course two years ago we were told if we didn't fancy, or couldn't due to injury, carry out mouth to mouth, then don't bother. The chest compressions shift enough air. Takes a little while for these things to perculate!
Gatt Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I couldn't get past the title of this thread cos all I saw was - "Vinnie Jones hard and fast" Read it on BBC News website this morning - and was laughing at the recommendation to do it to the BeeGee's "Stayin' Alive" Does that mean you then get a doctor doing "Tragedy" if it doesn't work? 1
CESIL Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 Well it's certainly an improvement on what I was taught...Nellie the Elephant!

laserblazer Posted January 4, 2012 Posted January 4, 2012 I've have this theory that every other blue moon, someone manages to resuscitate using cpr and whatever they did becomes the new standard. So, if someone was brought back by dancing a jig on their chest, that would become the new prescribed method. Truth is, unless it's a child, then the best cpr can do is keep the blood flowing until a defribrillator is used.
Andrew_C Posted March 5, 2014 Posted March 5, 2014 I had some training from the head of trauma at the local A&E. I asked about the compression only methods, and he said, "Yes it works, but if you can do the full CPR then it works better"

witch Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 That Vinnie Jones Vid is great BUT.. He isn't doing the CPR to the beat of the music. Also, the beat of Stayin Alive is more like once a second, not the twice he recommentds

Also, the beat of Stayin Alive is more like once a second, not the twice he recommentds Apparently "Stayin' Alive" is 103 bpm but, let's face it, Vinnie isn't known for his musical prowess. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_IFHtec5S8
witch Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 Hmmm I dont have much to do today so I have just gone back to a vid of Staying Alive and counted the bpm... Not nearly 103
