mobile internet from southampton - london

Hi all just wondering if anyone has experience of any other networks than O2 which can give a reliable commute reception from Southampton to London Waterloo. currently on O2 and the reception is flaky at best. Any advice would be hugely appreciated. I have had a look at the BBC map which show rough estimate of coverage but am after some first hand experience to be honest.

For 3G coverage I have been a heavy user of Vodafone and Three, used mine all over the country with no major problems and was very impressed with my Vodafone when in the Nottingham area. Now on Three due to a good deal I get.
