Attatching IMac's to a windows domain.

Our academy has recently bought 4 new IMac's, i have been given the job to get these up and running on our windows domain. We are currently running Windows server 2003 and all of our clients are windows based, is there an easy way of doing so?

All I needed to do to do this was add active directory in directory admin. This added them to the windows 2003 AD for us and kids could log in as normal. If you want to lock them down I think you'll need a mac server of some sort, we got a mac min server and bound Open Directory to Active Directory to create the "Golden Triangle" as it's often refered to. We use Server 2003 and our macs all run OS X 10.6.

so when they log in if they are not locked down will they be able to access everything? where as obviously when students log into our windows machines they have no admin rights to the machine or network.

In order to lock them down like that, you'd have to get an OS X server running and add it in to the mix, as it has its own permissions system.

Or you could try a third party product like AdmitMac. Must admit (haha) I had some trouble with it, but others seem to have got on fine. Not cheap, but saves having to buy a Mac server.
