Wireless Access Issues

I have a Windows XP laptop here on a domain who has a trust with us but it will not connect to our wireless even thought their Domain Users & Computers can be authenticated through it. My user account on that domain connects fine but the computer account will not, does anyone have any ideas?

 

The other domain in our forest one of their devices works fine just not this one with a trust.

Try to pin it down to a wifi or a network issue.

 

Plug the laptop into the domain and see if you can log on. If you can

 

Try logging on and see if you are connecting to the network. Are you picking up an ip and is some form of mac filtering or certification system in use may be with radius.

 

Has the laptop got a key to join the wifi network.

 

Other things that might need checking are firewalls and check that the ip and dns addresses are correct and someone has not fix them on the laptop.

 

I am guessing here.

Laptop works fine if plugged in on domain.

 

I can connect to the network and get an IP just cannot do anything on the network.

 

There isn't a key as it is all managed via Radius.

 

IP & DNS are both DHCP, firewall is off.

Nothing locally. Just an odd way the entry shows up on the radius box.

Been a while since I setup radius but from what I remember the simple setup error I made was to forget to apply the gpo setting to the correct OU? Double check the user/computer is in the correct ounwith the radius info attached.

Is radius set to only allows members in a spefic group to connect?

Ours is against domain\domain users and domain\domain computers so any of their devices and users can connect.

Do you have an access list on your network? I had a similar issue, but mine was due to the security key authentication support. Consider updating the service pack on the computer giving you troubles.

I still have the issue but think it is now something to do with the radius policy as it has a rule that say NAS Port much match xxx and must be a member of xyz group. What is a NAS port as me and another techie have never heard of this before?
