I run my own hosting server, which I run my clients on, now I am in the ICT educational gang, I would be open to offering some cheap hosting, I would not be in it to make money of you guys, (http://www.edugeek.net school users only) just cover my costs.

It would be running PHP4/5 MySQL, Linux system. You would get a web admin control panel to configure emails, domain, sub domains, Mysql, etc. At the moment I dont host domains, but they can be easily pointed using the old name server names.

I dont run anywhere near what the large people host (zen, heart) so speed would be very quick.

If anyones interested, let me know?

Websys Education Hosting offers a well priced competitive hosting package for education and were willing to work with you to make sure you get what you want. If you dont see something you want/need in the package then just ask and we'll do our best to make sure it happens for you.

We also provide free 30 day trial accounts if you would like to try first.

in response to that plexer, we are hosted in the uk and will offer to work with yourselves to provide services that we dont currently offer when requested.

Bluehost (although a large one) do have a bandwidth limit, which we don't believe in and as such don't impose one.

We also offer a choice between Windows hosting and Linux hosting with the option to change at any time.

All I'd like to say is that we are realistic here and know that there are many options for web hosting available, some of which have hidden limits etc. We are not trying to say that we are better than everybody else out there, as at the end of the day stuff like that doesn't really play a large part when people make hosting descisions, however we are out there and if anyone would like to try a package, please contact us.

Inow: Far enough, however I don't believe that anyone can truly offer a no bandwidth limit.

I think though that 3,000gb a month would be plenty for us.

the biggest issue I had when looking at hosts was their limits on the size of mysql db's which as we a going to be running a joomla site concerned me.

No-one offers fully unlimited band width, when they say that they mean metered bandwidth. fair usage, if you constantly used 40-50g per month they would soon let you know.

Guys, I never said it was unlimited I simply stated that we do not believe in imposing a limit. We do of cause have a fair usage policy, and would be stupid if we didn't, but it's only there incase someone was seriously abusing. It's there to protect the majority of users from those few that seek to simply abuse and we've never had to impose it yet.

Please keep the comments comming as anything I read, good and bad helps us shape the way we run our services.

Argh! They are awful in my experience. Their customer service is awful and they take forever to do anything. A friend who was with them had their account deleted because their site received more than 200 visits a day - and only the threat of legal action get their data back.
