School Websites - scrolling images

We set up our website a few years ago, say 3, the pictures on the scrolling images have not been changed since then, question is, how often do you change your images on the main "banner" part of your website?

Ours are article based so we try to change them quite often, school trips, events happening around the school stuff like that

In 1 school I worked in before, I tried to do them at least once a term. Tried to use school trips, school events (music, sport, etc), even just photos that was taken around the school when there was interesting things going on in different departments
