Davit2005 Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 We are loking at this software now as a replacement to PhotoPlus X2 which is really not reliable on our Windows 7 machines. We use local profiles at the moment for staff and students but would like to move to mandatory for the students but Serif is holding us back as even less reliable when configured like this. Users Application Data is redirected to the users home area on the server. We have age range of students between 9 to 13 who will be the users of the software. Our alternatives are Corel suite if there is any comparison, Pros or Cons please comment. Thanks in anticipation of reply.
K.C.Leblanc Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Have you asked Serif for an evaluation copy? They're usualy happy to send out a single copy. EDIT: It's probably not user friendly enough, but Gimp might be worth a try. 1
Davit2005 Posted November 24, 2011 Author Posted November 24, 2011 DP X4, We can get hold of one I'm sure. We thought about GIMP but also looking at PhotoShop Elements and Corel. The students have access to drawing tablets so we mainly use Art Rage 2 at the moment till we get a replacement for Serif. Whatever happens it needs to be school network friendly and good support which almost rules out Adobe to start with (from personal experience anyway).
neilmc Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 We use the whole serif sweet in school and have not had a single problem with any of it, i would say its worth the buy
