Any issues with Purple Mash?

Some of my schools are looking to use 2Simple's Purple Mash.

 

Has anyone here been using it? (actually using it/seen it being used frequently by teachers in their schools - not just paying for it )

 

Does it work OK on XP and Win7?

 

On netbooks?

 

Class of 30 at a time?

Hi, We use it here, and from what I've seen it's well used (certainly by one particular teacher). Currently windows XP and our IT suite has 26 PCs so that's the most I've seen in use.

 

It always seems to need the latest flash player though, and I mean the latest as soon as it's released. It seems like that anyway.

 

If you want me to find out any more info let me know and I can ask staff that use it what they think its strengths/weaknesses are.

I don't mean to sort of jack this thread (sorry!), but do all the 2Simple software come with MSIs or do you have to repackage them up? My school is looking to purchase 15 different odd titles of the 2simple software range :|

Purplemash is an online package similar to education city etc. so apart from a browser and flash you don't need to roll anything out. As for their install packages I've no idea.

We use Purple Mash at one of my schools, throughout the entire school. They use it heavily and have never had any problems with it. The only niggle I have is the admin side, adding users, moving groups etc.. can be a little slow to update and fiddly.

The central 2simple sales department are very assertive but IME behave reasonably when asked to "really" back off and leave the poor school alone

 

Our local rep (Philip - don't know his last name but know we know each other by sight) is very good to deal with.

 

I respect them as its their livelyhood to flog their stuff and you'd have to be barking mad not to want it

 

(Unfortunately, the software gravy funding train left the station a few years ago and we can't afford to buy it any more )
