MichaelJohnson Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Hey we have a smartboard which is off by about 2 inches when using it, but it is only occurring in the middle of the board, using the bottom or top it is fine but the centre is almost unusable. Is this something that can be fixed? (relatively easily and cheaply) or is it time for a new board? Thanks in advance.
ricki Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 Hi Have you calibrated the board http://downloads01.smarttech.com/media/services/quickreferences/pdf/english/orient.pdf Is the board damaged. Is all the pens in the tray at the bottom this can cuase problems? Have you tried it with a different computer? Have you tried removing any usb extenders? Has the board got the latest firmware and the latest driver on the computer and software? Have you tried a controller on the back of the board from a working smartboard of a similar model? Many models have these where you can change them Is something bending the board from the back? Richard 1
gavins38 Posted November 18, 2011 Posted November 18, 2011 There's a factory reset button on the side of the controller board on the right hand side of the smartboard. You have to use a pen to press it. Alternatively it might be worth deleting the registry entries for the calibration settings. I can't remember the exact location of these entries at the moment, sorry, so you might need to google it. 1
MichaelJohnson Posted November 18, 2011 Author Posted November 18, 2011 Thanks for the replies guys. The board is not bent or damaged in any way, its definately not the control module on the back, nor is it the pens in the trays. Nothing to do with usb extenders and it has the latest firmware and drivers. I will be trying the reset button and ive found the steps i need to take to delete the registry entries so ill be trying this next week. Thanks for the tips ill keep this thread updated for when/if i fix the issue.
cullingsh Posted November 21, 2011 Posted November 21, 2011 Have you tried the 21-point orientation? Worked a charm for me the other day!
