[mdt] Windows XP SP 3 clean install - Deployment Failed -2146893819 0x80090005

Morning all,

 

Banging my head against the desk with this one.

 

I've got MDT 2010 and WDS Server installed and running per Dave Colemans E-Book. Everything is talking and working OK. I've made a Win XP Pro SP3 Image (straight from the OEM CD) and pushing it out to a test laptop. I've also made available the drivers in the Deployment Workbench.

 

The laptop finished imaging but the an OSD error comes up with the following.

Please review the log files to determine the cause of the problem.

 

During the deployment process, 2 erros and 0 warning were reported.

Litetouch deployment failed, Return Code = -2146893819 0x80090005

 

Message from the task sequence engine:

 

Failed to run task sequence (0x80090005)

 

I'm now going to try again with no drivers available to see if it is that that's causing the issues.

But I have no fails in the log.

Simon have you managed to fix this yet?

 

If not what task sequence are you using could you give a few more details. I have been using MDT just recently and had my fair share of problems and failures. However your problem is one I have not seen, I think I would first create a new task sequence and try that first. If that fails maybe come back with some info about your task sequence.

 

I have XP SP3 working and just briefly I started with a clean machine installed XP and di all the updates then I gathered the image back to the MDT server. Then I imported the .wim file into the "Operating Systems" section then once I had done that I created a new task sequence using the "standard client task sequence"

Are you sure its installed the network drivers on the laptop
