Well yeah but I mean completely like for like, street for street.

I've thought about this myself for years, I always thought it'd be awesome if they made a sandbox game that was based on any area you like using some sort of map generating algorithm... of course it'd have to be a case of setting a maximum size somehow, perhaps 10 square miles around the chosen "epicentre" (e.g. your home address) and to have a story it'd have to be a case of set points being chosen by the map generator for the story to happen, with all this data being stored in a meta-file so it was done once at the start of the game and remained the same whenever you played.

There are all sorts of problems you'd have to overcome but I can't help wondering how hard it would be using something like the Google Earth API to generate something that at least resembles the real world...

Perhaps a discussion for elsewhere! :)

Normally delays don't bother me, but the fact that they've given little to no information about the game for all this time and then go and delay the release further after marketing it as Spring 2013 is extremely disappointing.

I hope they have a bit of courtesy and give us some more information in return for the delay!

I like it, will make a surprise!

Been waiting for this for a good while.

Feel that GTA4 was a big letdown. Hope this lives up to the hype!

There goes another few months of my life..

Did you play The Ballad of Gay Tony? One of the best GTA games so far IMO, and certainly the best DLC I've ever bought

I just loved The Lost and Damned episode on GTAIV - there was nothing better than riding around on a chopper listening to "I'm a cowboy, on a steel horse I ride...". I really should replay GTA IV again sometime before GTA V is released for the PeeCee.

Such a damn shame that Red Dead Redemption never made it to the PeeCee market. :(

Only you would buy that. We can all assume from the title why. :p

Read dead on pc, would be AMAZING! It was epic enough going round with high power pistols and buffalo rifles (and the first rifle, forgot what it's called) killing possies was amaaaaazzzzinnng. Hearing them all rage was hilarious lol

Edit: @AlfaTech did you play undead nightmare?!

I liked Lost and the Damned too, but I think I'd have been annoyed if I'd bought it upon release, it's very short and doesn't add a lot to the game. BoGT could have been released as a totally new GTA IMO it adds so much, has a great and in depth story, maybe not as long as GTAIV but still a decent length for a modern game. I think Rockstar deserve recognition for releasing it as a DLC rather than charging full game price TBH!

(I bought the stand alone disc for 360 with L&D and BoGT on it for £15, excellent VFM)

Yes of course, I must be gay because I bought something with gay in the title, and I must be offended you're calling me gay because that's such a terrible thing to be! Disappointing attitude from an adult TBH.

Didn't mean anything of the sort, but okayyyyyy. You do know that 'ballad' means song? Right?

In a literal sense, yes. But, ballads are more akin to things like Beowulf.

Epic stories set to music.

Also, I haven't even finished GTA4. :p

Maybe I missed my bowl of happy this morning (or ate my extra bowl of stupid), but are you saying that rather than suggesting I was gay you were merely suggesting I like ballads?

You know what, I just don't care...

Finished GTA4 11 minutes over the 30 hours needed for the LCM achievement.. I replayed the last mission for 2 hours until I could get it under the 30 hour mark. Ended up on 29:59:50.

Didn't get into BoGT too much, liked tLaD though. Can't wait for GTAV.

You saw nothing :bolt:

and yeah, I was.. when the credits rolled I was in rage mode, I didn't actually watch the final cut scene until I'd done it, I just kept dashboarding and going back in to try again.

Favourite mission was probably GTA4's bank robbery, enjoyed that one, after that, any kill frenzy from GTA2 :p

Talking of rage mode: I went through a period of about 2 months with no home internet, during which time I finished GTA4 and got most of the achievements. When I got my internet back, I lost all of my achievements but not my save game, meaning the only way to get them back would be to start from scratch. I sold the game.

Favourite mission: probably the final one in Vice City, "say hello to my lil' friend!"

Sounds like when I started here...

Ha yeah, I think I was one of those who didn't "get" you too. I should probably stop responding to new people until I've had my morning coffee!
