[for sale] Shuttle SG31G2V2 Black Barebone for LGA775 CPU

Decided to give Edugeek members first refusal for this before I try ebay so...

 

I am selling a Shuttle SG31G2V2 Black Barebone PC which I bought just over a year ago for the princely sum of £153.89. The spec for it is here.

 

However, its now currently sitting up in my attic with inches of dust covering it as I since replaced it with something else. Originally I was trying to turn it into a virtually silent PC for my bedroom but only ended up using it for a couple of months before then realising that a Mini-ITX motherboard and suitable case to boot was all I really needed. In doing this however, I have cut through the "Warranty Void if Removed" sticker on the power supply in order to check if I could replace the fan, which is why I didn't return it to the supplier (I'm honest, so sue me).

 

Apart from the aforementioned sticker, I have not changed anything on the PC so is still in its original form. It even has its protective plastic film around the edge of the front bezel which I was reluctant to take off until I was sure I could do what I wanted to do with the PC. I have tested it recently so still works as well as it did when I first took it out of the box. I have packed the PC back in its original box and packaging (again kept it because I wasn't sure) with all the supplied accessories.

 

As it's slightly used and the void sticker is broken, I have decided it wouldn't be fair to sell it for the above amount, however I still want to try getting back a large fraction of what I payed for it so I am selling this for £115.00 or best offer.

It doesn't but I may be willing to put an E4300 in the box with it.

 

EDIT: Actually I should mention that was the processor I used with it.

Right, this is attempt 2 at trying to sell this PC. I still have it, I'm still not using it (although I have tested it since) and still would like to sell to someone who will make good use of it. I am also willing to throw in a Core2Duo and 2GB of DDR2 RAM also.

 

Firstly though, there is a couple of quirks i've found - it requires holding in the reset button for approx 10-15 seconds the very first time you switch on after plugging in the mains, after which it will proceed to boot up normally from then on until you unplug and replug. Second one is that the E6550 C2D @ 2.33 GHz (which I would have liked to include) is instead detected running at 1.4GHz even though its a fully supported processor.

 

I mentioned before about including an E4300 with the PC, though I think I also have an E4400 and may include that instead if I can find it.

 

As I have neglected this one a bit by not putting it back in the box (which I still have + accessories) and it has ended up with a few small scratches. These aren't noticeable unless you're actually looking for them but you may be able to touch these up if you so wish. The front bezel however still has the protective polythene strip around the edge as I never bothered taking it off.

 

My price for this + CPU + 2GB RAM will be £50 OBO + Reasonable courier cost. Minus that if you're fairly local and choose to pick up yourself.

 

EDIT: I actually have an E4300 and an E4500. I'll include either based on your requirements. I'll also sell for less but without the CPU & RAM.

@happymeal Yes, it is.

 

I ought to mention that since refitting the E4500, the first quirk I mentioned (holding the reset button in before it'll boot) has stopped happening. It may be that my E6550 - while being a supported CPU, may be the wrong stepping or something silly like that.
