mattx Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 They should do this where I live in West London - they would make a bomb on the fines. I would personally chop their hands off or give them an instant 12 month ban. BBC News - 1,000 drivers in Wales caught on mobiles in two weeks 1
featured_spectre Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Agreed...In my area my daughter and I have been nearly run over (on the pavements) because of idiots driving and on their phones at the same time (txting mainly) and not looking at what they are doing. Royal PITA and it should be mandatory that they do that across the country...catch all of them!
bossman Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I would ban them from being able to use a mobile phone, have them implanted with a device which interferes with the signal so no matter what they did they couldn't send or receive calls. People wouldn't want to be around them and they would become social pariahs hehe! Ohhh! how wickedly good that sounds!
featured_spectre Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 GENIUS!! Only exception should be emergency vehicles as their radios work on the same frequencies as mobile phones.
featured_spectre Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 not quite that simple to do on a national scale...but like I said, have the device in all cars, put it at the centre of the vehicle, 2m radius, job done

Michael Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 The law should be changed and they should get 6 points and fined a higher amount, not £60. It's a waste of time printing the bill for that amount! £1000 is more realistic. 1
Little-Miss Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I'm with Michael, its got to hurt to make them stop! 1
newpersn Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 I agree, only time my phones out is if I'm using it for a sat nav, otherwise its in the door or pocket

Oh, and not having a national speed limit is quite nice n'all mb
