HD Camera to use whilst riding bike?

Has anyone got, or can recommend a nice camera to use whilst riding a push bike? I would prefer if it can attach to the handlebars and HD quality

I want to record myself failing miserably as I crash doing mountain biking:tongue:

Both look good, but..

 

1st = No HD quality and I would like that and willing to pay a little extra for it.

2nd = GoPro looks nice but quite expensive ... might be an option if I can’t find anything cheaper

 

Still thinking of the flip cams and found some handlebar mounts, however the battery life seems rather bad ( Says up to 2 hours ) and also since they aren’t produced any more I thought someone might have created something similar but new.

Can you put sd cards into flip cams for extra storage?

Use one after the other would give you 2 hrs of HD footage or 2 mounted together (side by side) would give you 1 hrs of 3D HD footage

Been thinking more and considering using a phone instead. My phone is really old now and for a while I’ve been thinking about purchasing a new one. I've always liked the Iphone and it also has a video camera on it capable of recording HD.

Yes it's much more expensive than a camera alone^^ but it would save me buying a camera and a new phone in the future.

Anyone know how well an iPhone would handle a situation like this? Not sure how good the camera on them handles movement and vibration.

I would go for the GoPro too. They are almost indestructible (which is more than can be said for the iPhone).

I've had a Sanyo VPC-PD1. It's HD, uses SD cards, and has an (small) optical zoom. Plus it's pretty cheap.

 

And, for action shots, you get 60fps in 720.
