creese Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 We have a Primary school that would like to flag up when a child does not attend. Other than a Comment red flag or a Report Card 'R' would not really be enough of a kick where this school is concerned. Does anyone have a similar problem and solution?

You could probably doctor one of the xsl templates to colour or boldify I suspect that nothing short of a hand coming out of the monitor and slapping them awake would work in this particular school. I was skightly encouraged to see they are using Comments, so that may be the solution. Running reports etc. are a non-starter.

After playing around I found that the Homepage Panel 'Attendance Summary Whole' shows Unauthorised Absences when clicking on the date icon. This might well work for them.
vikpaw Posted October 17, 2011 Posted October 17, 2011 Good luck, it does do a pretty good job, just force it out, and get rid of other gumpf to save on power and speed. The date icon, will show a list of today and toggles back to the graph with whatever time frame you want. They can even have more than one. Couple that with some attendance based dynamic groups in Discover - as i believe they will send a message when membership changes, and you have a pretty nifty notification system. Discover might be overkill though. I still think scheduling or automating the lesson monitor / attendance reports would be really useful and it came up in another thread last week, so that might do the job.

That's why I wanted the easiest solution, not something I always go for. they had the ise they only put children's details on SIMS for the Censuses.

We show them. We train them (free). They forget. They ignore. They can't be bothered. We try very hard, some brick wall can't be moved.

We have managed to get most off of the server which was being used as a PC, but not all, in spite of how much it slows it down. Some schools are their own worst enemy.
