We are currently going down the road of using ipads for the year head etc and smt but i have heard that we can manage these ipads by just a normal mac book ? also in terms of licencing if say we have 5 ipads and we buy an app where do we draw the line on how many devices we can install that app on

1 app, 1 device...thats how it has always been for apple licencing.

Really?

My ICT Co-ordinator Fanbois told me you could sync/use the app up to 5 devices if synced with the one computer.

I was under the impression from a friend who works in the apple store that the app can be sync'd to as many ipods\pads that you like providing the it resides in one itunes library on one machine.

I may be wrong, but it would be useful to get this clarified sooner rather than later as we have plans to buy a few more soon.

Apple Genius' in MK store said that if you are running the device in an educational or business establishment it is a case of 1 licence for 1 product, if you are running it for personal use then its 1 licence for 5 products (iPod, iPhone, iPad, Mac etc)

But when i comes to apps, im not sure how it works, as for a school, you only want 1 apple id, but if this 1 license 1 product, how would we go about getting 100 x the app we want for example, until apple finds a solution for education, the only way is to sync that 1 purchased apps to all your devices, or not have any apps at all.
