AshleyCawley Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 I am looking for the ability for teachers to be able to edit word documents directly on/from Moodle 2.1.1 We're running a relatively new Moodle 2.1.1 VLE and the teachers have made it clear that they require the functionality to be able to edit word documents direct on Moodle, having not seen this before I guessed that they're might be two different options: 1. Some sort of Moodle plugin that builds in a lightweight Office editor into the Moodle page and allows for the editing of word documents direct in the browser. 2. Some way for teacher to be using Office and then be able to save direct from word to Moodle Turns out that Microsoft developed a Add-in which does the latter; It's called the Office Add-in for Moodle or OAM unfortunately though this only appears to be compatible with Moodle versions 1.8 & 1.9 not 2.0> Does anyone know of an update to this Add-in or any other way I can successfully allow for editing of word documents on moodle (or saving directly to?) Thanks for your time and help,

nadeem Posted October 7, 2011 Posted October 7, 2011 Possibly a solution is dependent on where your files are stored, if for example your teachers store their files on their shared skydrive, then they could edit the files on there anyway. I'll try and test my OAM on our 2.0 moodle to see if it still works at all.
