Office 2010 cannot print pictures

Hi

 

Please could someone help. We have some windows xp machines fully patched with office 2010 installed and the teacher cannot print from powerpoint to a usb attached brother HL-2035.

 

We have tried 3 drivers but this did not help.

 

We have turned off background printing in powerpoint but this did not work.

 

We have tried the following reg setting current user\software\mocrosoft\office\14.0\common\general\disableprintfeatureoncrash set to 0 dword but this did not work

 

Has anyone come across this and does anyone have a fix. The machine prints pictures from ie and other programs just not powerpoint 2010.

?Have you checked which printer it is going to? SOmetimes certain programs will change which printer it is going to to the printer it thinks it should send it too. I know basic just checking she may not have looked at that. Also is there a settings or otpions tab in powerpoint there maybe some settings in there which are currently stopping it.

 

Other thing to ask is your policies on your server make sure thats not stopping the printer from working on that machine etc...

if you right click the document and press print does that work?

Does it work for other printers? We had issues with our junky 3 year old (supposedly supported) toshiba copier with certain documents. Office 2010 uses a newer print renderer that makes use of extra compression etc so some printers can't cope.

 

I know we have had hl2040's printing fine from Office 2010 but that was under Windows 7.

 

Have you fiddled with the spooler settings as sometimes the printers memory can get overwhelmed.

 

Also have you checked the printer has the latest firmware on it (latest is from the end of 2009) Brother Solutions Center: HL-2030: Downloads: Others

 

If it has old firmware the newer drivers may not work properly all the time til you upgrade it.

Yes it prints to the hl2035 but not the pictures.

 

Yes you can print pictures from ie and other program to the hl2035

 

Yes you can print powerpoints including pictures to our hp printer.

 

We are using windows xp and I have tried the original driver, and the two latest drivers from the brother site.

 

If you right click and click print it prints but not the pictures.

 

I have changed the driver setting on the printer to print direct and other spooler setting and that did not fix it.

 

I have checkdisked the machine and checked the event log and nothing and a system file check and thats ok too.

 

I will try the firmware next.

I have contacted brother and they have put it to level 2 and I have heard nothing back

I have got an answer back from brother to download the vista driver and that works to fix the hl-2035
