I have 4x Sanyo PLC-XW57 projector's in classrooms at work and 2 of them have failed with the same problem.

The first one i replaced with an older projector straight away but last week another went down with the same symptoms, you power on and the light stays green, fans kick in but no signal. Then the projector powers down and the red light flashes.

Both lamp and warning lights are not lit.

Do i need to press the thermal reset? And if so where is it located as i have the cover off and cannot find it.

Many Thanks

Paul

fan keeps powering up and then down for around 1 minute and then the red light flashes.

Identical to what happened with the same model last year, just hope we have no problems with the other 2.

They were part of an AV installation of new Promethean IWB's :(

To be honest i dont see many of these they are generally a good unit but supprised you say they came with a Promethean install?

They have a long on site cover 3 years if you tell me the serial number i can tell youif it is still covred.

OK looks liike these where installed in your summer hols 2009, but did you get an educational warrenty, i am concerened because this model is not normally for schools, you may not have a education 3 cover, you need to check with your installers but it SHOULD be still covered from the serial number.
