Old G4 Mac - what to do with it

We have an old Imac G4, in working condition. It's just been left in my room gathering dust for a while.

 

Any suggestions on what to do with it before I consider scrapping it?

Use it to test software on macs. Sims perhaps.

Scapped two recently. They are probably running OSX 10.1 or something and I found most pages come up very very wrong with whatever version of safari comes with that. Unfortunately it's about £60ish to upgrade to a newer version of OSX that is suitable for browsing any modern website. As for testing software on macs I think they are similarly too old to be suitable and not even x86.

Well Si, it's a shame it's not a G3 as I’m currently looking at turning one into a variant of the iMacquarium below:

 

 

Sensible suggestion; they are quite cool looking, small signage display perhaps?

What model / spec is it? Do you need a MAMP box for anything?

We have a couple of the stalky iMacs just laying around. Turns out that they fit quite nicely on a shelving unit designed for trays. We are planning on using one of them to display something to anyone that walks through the door. Problem is that we have no idea what!

It does depend on the spec - if it's over 866MHz, it'll run Leopard (not amazingly well, but plenty of RAM helps), though of course that costs a bit. I did this with an Ebay MDD Power Mac G4 - maximum RAM, loads of HDD space, USB 2.0, OSX 10.5, couple of DVD burners. Perfectly useable machine now (but still loud!)
