[iphone] Display an iphone on a Macbook

Hi everyone, but of an interesting problem here.

 

The music department have ask me if its possible to view things displayed on an iphone on a macbook (and then through a projector). The macbook --> projector part is no problem but I'm having trouble finding an app that will allow me to view what is displayed on the iphone on the macbook.

 

They'd like to be able to walk around and video what people are playing and display it on the big projector screen. I've looked into some apps (iDemo and Veency) but they require jailbreaking and as the phones are personal ones I wouldn't feel comfortable hacking them apart.

 

I've also had a look into IP cameras etc but they are "too costly and have too many cables" (head of musics words).

 

Any suggestions?

Ustream or LiveStream and make the stream password protected so only you can log in ... a bit of a pain having to send it up to a server on the 'Net but it would also mean you have a recording of it.

I'm presently playing with an iPad2, iOS 5 and an AppleTV2 to do exactly this via airplay ... but no release date on it yet.

Thanks for the Airplay hint, looks like it might be the thing I'm looking for.

Found a guide on Enable AirPlay From iPhone, iPad, iPod touch to Mac with AirPlayer | Redmond Pie which about does it.

 

Just waiting for the head of music to come back to me if it works as I don't have an iphone myself.

 

Will post results.

think you can get a video connector cable from apple - not had one so not sure if it will show whats on the iphone though.
