Hello,

This is related to an earlier question I asked, basically I am wanting to display a homepage for our webserver (intranet) when browsing through ipad, but the ipad goes externally and i get a dns run around on the internet, rather than it being resolved internally.

I am thinking i could have it resolved in squid maybe?

Am guessing though. hence the question.

I have hosts file on webserver containing the fqdn and its related ip , but tahts not been the solution

also i have dns forward and reverse records on our local DC which is our DNS server, thats not resolved it either.

is it something in SQUID i need to do?

Anyone help please?

Ta.

is the ipad using local wireless and picking up a local dns to go to first? you can force the dns on the ipad can't you. it should be affecting all devices. or did you mean the ipad is supposed to go externally e.g via 3g or something?

If you're using your internal DNS primarily, then have you got a record set pointing to an internal IP?

Anything found on the internal zones should not be forwarded.
