Hi,

I am looking at ways to shutdown my Windows 7 computers. I have a nice batch file that will close down my machines.

I but i am having trouble setting up the scheduled task. In Windows 7 group policy preferences for some reason when i create the task and specify credentials it doesn't create on the machines.

running the SCHTASKS commands on Windows 7 machines doesnt seem to work.

How do you do it please?

Thanks

we have fog and the fog service does it

you could make a batch script which exports the list of computers from ad using csvde and then use shutdown command reading comp names from the text file.

We got the same problem the tasks simply will not run as it says that the account doesnt have rights even though i have used the domain network account. I had heard that its a fault in group policy but we use Lan View to manually shut them down or i have got a bat file that will install the schedule task remotely and shut down yhe machine at said time.
