Hi,

We are looking to create a FTP server that can be acces by the computers on site. We have bothe computers joined to the domain and also stand alone computers.

We are hoping to get it running in a virtual machine on a admin workstation. We were looking for a linux system but we also can use windows 7 with software on.

Can anyone give any tips please?

Thanks

Fred

If the computers are on site wouldn't a file share simply be easier?

Depends if their end goal is to have something accessible externally, at least that would be my assumption.

I guess its to do with security as its going to hold software etc. Tried to do a folder share but couldnt access it due to being restricted. Probably something that has been set up in the server as its been locked down quite a bit. Also one of the techy's only does one day a week so it would be handy for him to be able to send stuff as well.

Thanks cpjitservices will try CentOS. Does it have to be 5.6 or can it be the newer 6.0?
