surveillance DVR keeps crashing when being accessed by remote

Hi,

 

I recently set up two Defender-USA 8CH network surveillance DVRs at a business. They are configured to use the following ports:

 

DVR1

->Web: 81

->Media: 9001

->Mobile: 18004

 

DVR2

->Web: 82

->Media: 9002

->Mobile: 18005

 

I can access DVR1 remotely without any problems. I can remotely access DVR2 for a little while and then the web server seems to freeze. It will continue to record video but I have to reboot it in order to access the web server again. This is very frustrating and I can't figure out what the problem is. Am I using a bad internet port?

I have had this with a DVR Before, (can't remember if it was the same as yours) but anyway we changed the PSU which prevented it for a while (strange i know, but honestly it did sort it for a bit) but in the end i had to change the motherboard in the DVR which sorted it out.

 

*not sure how expensive that will be though for your box, might not be same fault but just thought i would mention it

Thanks for the info. I don't think it's a hardware problem because I can access the web server locally (192.168.1...) and have it running for hours with no problems. But the moment I try to access it remotely via ports 82 and 9002 it crashes. I'm going to try and set the media port to 9000 and see if that works.

I switched to port 9000 and still crashes. I'm going to try switching web port to 80 and see if that fixes it.
