Hello again! Thank you all for your replies. I ended up using a program called RunasSpc (Runas Password) It was easy to use and did what I needed it to do. I'm sure it's not the most elegant solution, but it'll have to do for now until I find something better. Thanks again!

I've seen something like this on another forum where supposedly you only have to enter the password once and it saves it, but I could never get it to launch the program, it would just hang in the cmd window.

Sounds like better security than giving the user an admin password. Will this work on Windows 7? How do I set it up?? Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply! One of the programs that I needs to be run with Admin privileges is the Cisco QuickVPN app. Another is the Corel Draw X3 Suite Font Navigator program (for loading fonts into Corel Draw). I assume QuickVPN needs admin privileges because it temporarily modifies the computer's network configuration and Font Navigator probably needs to be Admin because it's working with Windows fonts???

Hi, I do network administration for a small business with a few stand-alone Windows 7 desktop computers. I configured the computers with an Administrator account and a Standard user account for the person using the machine. The Standard account needs to run software that requires Admin privileges and it always prompts for the Admin password. Is it possible to force these programs to run as administrator without prompting for the password?? I apologize if this has been answered on another thread or forum but I've searched for quite a while and haven't found anything that actually works! Thank you.

I switched to port 9000 and still crashes. I'm going to try switching web port to 80 and see if that fixes it.

Thanks for the info. I don't think it's a hardware problem because I can access the web server locally (192.168.1...) and have it running for hours with no problems. But the moment I try to access it remotely via ports 82 and 9002 it crashes. I'm going to try and set the media port to 9000 and see if that works.

Hi, I recently set up two Defender-USA 8CH network surveillance DVRs at a business. They are configured to use the following ports: DVR1 ->Web: 81 ->Media: 9001 ->Mobile: 18004 DVR2 ->Web: 82 ->Media: 9002 ->Mobile: 18005 I can access DVR1 remotely without any problems. I can remotely access DVR2 for a little while and then the web server seems to freeze. It will continue to record video but I have to reboot it in order to access the web server again. This is very frustrating and I can't figure out what the problem is. Am I using a bad internet port? Thanks, lambda

We have a desktop computer running Windows 7 Enterprise in the office across the hall from the conference room, I could run a 30' VGA cable to the screen and have the owner just remote desktop into that computer and that would be pretty cheap, but it's a messy solution. I'd rather have something dedicated. Any other ideas?

Hi, I'm the network administrator for a small graphic design firm. The owner wants to be able to work entirely from home and be able to conduct remote meetings with his employees at the office. He wants to be able to show his computer desktop (at home) on the LCD screen in the conference room at the office and then conduct the meeting over speaker-phone. Essentially, I'm looking for an all-in-one device that I can connect to the LCD screen in the conference room and connect to the internet and it will receive and show his home, computer desktop. I looked into the Ethernet to VGA over IP Converter and it looked promising but earlier in the thread DannyBroadhurst mentioned that it won't work through switches, which is obviously a necessary criteria in order to for it to work over the internet. Does anyone have any ideas? Again, this is a small firm so I'm trying to keep IT costs to a minimum. Thank you. Lambda
