Serco Facilities + Room Booking System + ISA Server Problem....help me!

Hi all

I have a problem, We use serco facilities at our school. I’m trying integrate the Room Booking System (on line web based from roombookingsystem.co.uk) and get this integrated with facilities.

I have made the necessary changes to api.xml and menu and settings xml on the facilities server. However when the chaps at room booking try and connect to our system using the API address they are being asked for a username and password.

The problem I believe is due to the ISA server, I have tried to configure it to allow the IP addresses used by Room Booking System through but they still get a login screen.

Does anybody else use the above system, can you point me in the right direction?

(Serco and Room Booking are reluctant to offer any advice on changing ISA server rules)

Cheers

How is the isa server setup to handle who is allowed access to the page, it should be all users and if the web booking thing has its own servr based authentication then you will need to go into the authentication tab of the publishing rule and allow the clients to authenticate directly with the server from the drop down.

Synack,

thanks for your reply

I'm not 100% on the working of the ISA server (its ISA 2006 ).

I have created a network that includes the 2 IP Address used by the external Room Booking System.

I have then created a Firewall web policy allowing access from the above network to the website (API used by the room bookimng system to conect to our system) But obviously I'm missing soemthing as they are still prompted for a logon

Anyone knwo how to setup an ISA policy to allow external IP addresses through to connected to an internal website without authentification?

Cheers

Is the username and password request not the Facility API ones ? You would have to authenticate against the system I would expect to extract data from Facility, they should have full details of it if they are a paid up API customer I would expect.

Thanks for your replies, I'm still having problems with this. Is there anyone out there that uses all these sytems together (ie isa, eportal and roombooking system)

Sorry to be slightly off tangent here but why not use the ePortal Room Bookings? It ties into the Timetable so you move a room due to a room being closed it then allows you to re-cover the room like you cover absent teachers so could be a better way? I don't use it myself but I don't integrate Facility into CRBS which we use I do it manually as it only takes about an hour to put them in
