Hey, im running Windows 2008 R2 WDS trying to deploy Windows 7 clients.

I have no problems with rolling out the sysprepped captured image unattended. However i have done a lab of 10 computers perfectly, tried it on another lab of 25 of the same type of machines (as far as i'm aware and can tell) and all of them are on a reboot loop (they reboot on disk.sys).

On another note unrelated to the above, i prepared an image for another machine, sysprepped it and imaged it back to the exact same machine and wound up with a reboot loop on disk.sys also.

Any ideas/suggestions?

Thanks in Advance!

Checked that the bios settings for SATA mode is AHCI? (or vice versa if the machine you created the image with was set ot IDE....which would of been a mistake :p)

Turns out the first set of machines had SATA drives and the second set IDE drive, no idea why, other than that identical. Is there anyway to make the image work on the IDE drive machines?

Thanks again

On the machine you created the image with was it using a SATA drive and set to AHCI mode in the bios?

If yes then image one machine that has a SATA drive, then do this: Solved Switch AHCI TO IDE (Tutorial HowTo) !!! - Vista Forums then with that done and the bios set to IDE mode capture the image again, and then try using it on the IDE drive machines. Hopefully that should work.

EDIT: also don't forget to slap the guy that gave you IDE drives... :p
