Probably not of much interest to alot of you, this is a monitoring role using bespoke tools to help support our mobile data centers at sporting events - not your average helpdesk role.

We're not looking for A+, N+ or any MCPs but someone with intelligence, an eye for detail, able to follow direction, contribute with improvements and most importantly we're looking for someone reliable. Someone analytical with the ability to learn quickly.

It is weekends and evenings so transport to and from Slough will be required, although we're near Burnham train station.

The role is based in Slough Trading Estate and is paying a good hourly rate - most weeks you'll be able to get 20+ hours, I am forwarding the CVs to my colleague but can answer questions on the role as I've had to do it whilst understaffed. Would suit uni students or college goers with an interest in sport and IT.

Intrigued as to why they can't make their tools work from anywhere over a VPN rather than paying for someone to go to the office?

They do work remotely, very well - I use them remotely :-)

Hardly going to set a beginner on their own at home though? We can't train someone who isn't on-site and plus, as a matter of policy the helpdesk remains on-site to be managed by the helpdesk manager... you could remotely support many aspects of a school but the school wouldn't let you...
