Can anyone advise if schools can get special pricing on data contracts for smartphones and/or tablets(android/Iphone/ipad).

An external to our school went down this route and got special business rates with a bunch of Blackberry's and it was relatively cheap.

 

It can be done its just knowing who to contact.

 

I would presume any phone provider will accommodate with special pricing as a business user with probably educational prices thrown in.

 

Give one of the big players a ring.

I got a new android phone at the weekend, 25% discount for education workers on Orange. I would expect the same for educational establishments.

I think @Millgate do contract pricing on phones and things for companies, don't know if he can do educational discount on top of other discounts but might be worth a question?

Educational pricing depends on a few things such as who you want to go with (Vodafone, 02 etc) and how many handsets.

If you are looking for bulk data contracts then go to BuyingSolutions first as the Govt has already negotiated a number of bundles with most providers, and you can then attempt to negotiate it down further.

How did you get that from them? I enquired at my local orange shop the other week and was told they don't know anything about it, now maybe it was the PFY on that was a bit un-educated but I was hmmmm
