You trap your forefinger in the door of the car as you swing the door shut.

Damn that stung..finger has immediately swollen to Tom Thumb standards hehe

OUCH! That could have been a lot worse...

I have been opening up and converting (resizing) a bunch of computer cages in my school this past couple of weeks. To open and close the cages, it requires about five-ten mins worth of finger grinding on the key/lock before its comes lose. By the end of the first day, I had two large blisters adjacent to each other and touching (which was painful) and by the next day I honestly thought I'd managed to somehow fracture my fingers because the pain was incredible. I've taken a small break from it this week, but will continue during the holidays.

Quite surprised at how hard I am finding it to type without the use of my forefinger, feels quite bizarre :)

Hehe..I reckon the excuse that all the blood has rushed to my finger and is causing me to be lightheaded should cover any mistakes I might make today lol

That must have hurt!

For my part, I woke up this morning and felt hungover, no idea why only just coming alive now but perhaps that's because I'm home and .. well it's the easter holidays so I know for the next fortnight I'm in staffless heaven!

For me it was a case of...

Take a job application form to a school that's 20 minutes off the normal commute route only to discover the postcode you've been given covers a 50 square mile radius... 20 minutes becomes 90 and I eventually just aimed for the center of town... (Aside: the school map for "how to find us" was a bit like google earth at max distance and a pin in the globe!)

So, then go into school where Espresso training session was in swing and the server that blew a few months back and been offline for 3 months had fubar'd the network and all GPO installs on 10+ machines had reversed... Not to mention a lot of login scripts shot back 3 months...

Oh and then Sky+ box at home died totally...

Ouch had that happen to me afew years back when I was cleaning my car. Was drying the door edges with the door open. Gust of wind closed the door with my hand in it. Had to actually open the door with the handle to get my hand out.

Wife said I looked like casper the ghost afterwards

OUCH!!

I feel your pain. I trapped my thumb in between a pair of swinging doors a few years ago, you know, the sort you push through and they swing back on them selves a few times before settling, there was about a 5mm gap between the doors, and my thumbs a lot fatter than 5mm, it hurt lots!!

I once cut the end off my finger with one of those handheld liquidizer things.

It was a bit interesting trying to explain the blood up the wall and the chunk of my finger by the kitchen door to my dad.

The best he could do was laugh and take a picture of the chunk!
