Book Clubs

We have several who leave their wares in the staffroom and there can be some cracking deals. I hate fried egg and getting my wife's eggy bits all over my bacon. In the Book Club that has just been delivered, a mini non-stick frying pan, just the size for a single egg, £3.00. So that's my phobia and the wife's wedding anniversary present sorted.

 

Anyone else had a really good buy from a Book Club?

Really did wonder where this was going...

 

I don't really partake in book club tbh but I do know of people who have had some quite practical items with their books - my sister for example ordered a baking book and got a box full of icing bags, cupcake holders, stencils and such.

 

They can be a bargain if you pick up the right ones

Keeping to the food theme, I got a copy of Larouse Gastronomique for a tenner. Now just need the time to experiment!

There always seems to be a lot of cookbooks. They must think teachers like cooking. "Reverse Parking for Dummies" might be more appropriate.

I've got a few little frivolous gifts from them: Toy penguin that sings and dances to "Ice, Ice, Baby", ball full of sparkles that flashes when bounced.

 

Was disappointed when I finally tracked down the Mo Hayder books that were on the list but not in the box at 3 of my 4 sites to find out that it contained the first 2 books (that I have read) and another I haven't. BTW, if it's still in your schools "Birdman" has one of the most disturbing serial killer "quirks" I have ever read.
