boogster Posted June 23, 2011 Posted June 23, 2011 Hi Guys My school has 20 SmartBoards with smart software installed, the head has asked about putting Promethian Active Primary software on the PCs connected so that teachers can use the flip charts etc, does anyoner know if this is OK to do or will it have licensing issues? This will be used just as a resource and not to manage the board (ie orientation etc) Also if Ok is the software free or do we need to purchase? Thanks
TRobinson Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 You can have a look at the Licensing details here Hope this helps - think the bottom line is that you can apply for a "Teacher Consent Licence" that allows you to run the "Personal" edition of our software (ActivInspire) in order to operate the Resources that are available from Promethean Planet but if you want to do anything more than that then you must purchase a Professional Licence.
boogster Posted June 24, 2011 Author Posted June 24, 2011 Many thanks, as far as I understand she wants them to be able to use the flipcharts etc, would this require pro license?
TRobinson Posted June 24, 2011 Posted June 24, 2011 Hi, I believe that if the teachers want to use the functionality of ActivInspire on a competitors board I.E. They are not just installing the software to enable them to view Content/Resources then yes they will require a licence for each teacher. (or purchase our boards instead )
