Who has a vag car and wants to buy a vag-com diagnostic cable

Which version you after Ben as I already own one and RobK has just bought one (ironically he could have bought mine off me as my new Tiguan ain't compatible with the one I have). Probably easier if you tell me the model and year of your VAG and I can tell you if mine works with it from the Rosstech list.

 

I'm just about to buy the new one next month, in my experience (being a longtime VAG owner and forum frequenter) RossTech are not that good at discount unless you get large numbers and its the UK shipping that tends to be the killer, however Gendan ( http://www.gendan.co.uk/)are usually a good price anyway

And it was my thought too even though my son has had a VAG car for a long time. I'm sure the cable wouldnt be of any use on his 42 year old Beetle but maybe his 02 Bora could use one?

Afraid herbie is a simple beast and you usually can tell when he is upset (from the piles of smoke out the rear of him ) but your Bora would very much enjoy a VAG-COM amazing what you can do with them

I own an eBay special clone of the OPCOM for GM/Holden/SAAB vehicles. £25, plugs in to the car and my netbook, runs like a dream. Saved me lots of hassle. Stuff the genuine ££££ version, the knock off is perfectly good for everything upto and including enabling features, troubleshooting and reflashing/resetting ECUs.

I have an 06 Skoda Fabia.

 

Yeah I know about needing a few for discounts etc... just haven't seen any group buys on the VW type forums for a while guess everyone has them now

Hmm my cheap gendan one may work for your Fabia Ben, you use it with the Shareware VCDS and it gives you common things at no cost to the software etc.... If you can find out if it works with it you can buy that from me if you like. My new VW needs a full on VCDS as its all CAN-BUS Stupid Networks as if I didn't have enough crud with them at work my car is full of it as well Least it doesn't need a fancy L3 switch and some LACP trunking
