Clickview 247 - upgraded now slow

I've just upgraded our clickview library server and manager to the latest version and used the default standard definition to transcode in.

 

Since i've done this it takes hours to transcode just one program of an hour long. I could always go back and used the legacy/avi encoding but as they are looking to phase this out it won't help in the longrun.

 

clickview manager pc spec is (quite old 5+ yrs) sony vaio \ Intel pentium 4 @ 3ghz and 3gb ram \ windows 7 32bit \

clickview server is 2003 r2 se \ Intel Xeon 2.33ghz + 4gb ram

 

Has anyone else encountered the slowness after updating or are people using better spec pc's and found they can cope better?

same problem. But using a core I3 @3.2ghx 4gb ram on xp on the lib manager and our server is a Dell 170L (Win xp, 512mb ram with 2tb usb drive with all data stored on to that)

 

Normal takes about 1min of video =- 1 1/2min of encoding time. For now i switched it to legacy as it the nearly the same quality

thanks, think i'll do the same - hate to think how long their hd transcoding would take!

i would at least think they would make use of the cpu. We brought ourselfs a new computer for clickview lib man, But still takes the same time as our old pc (pent 4 D 1gb ram running xp)

 

Wish they would hurry up made a codec that would make use of the cores. (good job we didnt opt for the i7)

ClickView have now released 1.8.2. Within 1.8.2. there is a 'SD express' encoding profile. Enabling this on seems to have made the conversions as quick as they were prior to upgrading to the 1.8 series.
