I'm trying to run NETSH from a Windows 7 PC but getting the error message:

The following helper DLL cannot be loaded: DHCPMON.DLL.

The version I can get my hands on is from 2008 R2 is 64-bit and won't work for what I need it for (long story), and it doesn't seem to exist on 2008 or Win7. However, I believe it may exist on Vista? (and I don't have this installed anywhere). I'm hoping someone out there has a 32-bit version of this file and might be able to send it to me please???

Windows XP Professional 32 bit, dhcpmon.dll

I have 2 versions :

5.1.2600.5512

5.1.2600.0

Both versions zipped up and attached if of any interest to you ?

Also found this ms kb

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/242468

Which states the following :

Helper Dynamic Link Libraries Files Available

Routing & Remote Access IP Configuration - Ipmontr.dll

Routing & Remote Access IPX Configuration - Ipxmontr.dll

Interface - Ifmon.dll

RAS - Rasmontr.dll

DHCP - Dhcpmon.dll

WINS - Winsmon.dll

Associated Registry Entries for Helper Dynamic Link Libraries Files[/h] HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/NetSh/

REG_SZ: Ipmontr.dll

REG_SZ: Ipxmontr.dll

REG_SZ: Ifmon.dll

REG_SZ: Rasmontr.dll

REG_SZ: Dhcpmon.dll

REG_SZ: Winsmon.dll

Not sure if you will require any of the other dll files ?

Sorry mac_shinobi, I forgot to mention that I'd already tried the file from XP and it didn't work.

I have now sorted the problem :)

I eventually found the file in a very obsure and long path on the Win7 PC. (I had to do a "dir/s dhcpmon.dll" from the root of C: to find it... using the Win7 search function said no files found!?!) I had also downloaded and installed this: Download Details - Microsoft Download Center - Remote Server Administration Tools for Windows 7 with SP1

So I'm not sure if the file was already on the PC or if that installed it?

I copied it to c:\windows\system32 and NETSH now runs without error.

Many thanks to all those who took the time to check their PCs for me and/or replied. Cheers.
