It would appear that the school I work at has been given the go ahead for a new build!

Very 60s. I thought they had stopped with the whole idea of building a trendy looking school and were just going for functional? I wish they stop with the flat roofs and overhanging 1st floors, they didn't work in the past andd I can't see them working now. Good to see you are getting a new school - we are just waiting for the call too.

The flat tin roofs are great fun when it is raining hard. Lets just hope they build it properly and not go for the cheapest....

From those photos/designs, I don't think that building will age well.

Wireless throughout with laptops and Ipads plus IWBs (very 21st century) and open plan spaces for enhanced teaching and learning hehe!

 

All attached to the "cloud" which will be managed by the LA's managed service team as cheaply and ineffectual as possible so that the ICT becomes a joke rather than an enhancement to the school.

more likely no cables and entirely wireless as thats the future cables or so last century

It's a college btw. Its right on the docks so it just looks like they are dismantling a rig or aircraft carrier or something. It certainly isn't pretty by any stretch...

Good luck Gatt, remember stick your oar in early and don't assume anything. They will forget about services, they will forget you need power & they will forget to provide for future expansion or access after they have left.

 

Any other pics of that College or which one it is? I think I quite like it but more angles may decide it.

make sure your server room has air-con and your office has an outside window....we only got the aircon going to order a 42" tv and put "scenes thorugh a window on it" so i dont get cabin fever

The Comms badges we can do as they rely on Cisco protocols and the CC4 works very well with the Isolinear circuitry and bio-neural gel packs but it can't handle the mapping of printers through the software and the users profile (Scotties working on this at the moment) will let you know for the future if the control of the Turbo lifts has been sorted so the staff and students can get to where they need much quicker.
