ActivInspire/ActivStudio - Need To Disable Handwriting Recognition

Using Windows 7 Pro.

 

When using the pen on the board the text recognition seems to slow the writing down significantly, meaning unless you write seriously slowly, it doesn't pick everything up.

 

Is there a way of disabling the handwriting recognition? I can't imagine many people find it that useful - when using IWBs in classrooms it's often for bullet points / spider diagrams etc. as opposed to paragraphs of text... So handwriting recognition is redundant.

 

Any assistance would be gratefully received.

Hi,

 

Hand writing recognition (HWR) only kicks in when you select the HWR tool, it is not in use as default.

 

If you just select the Pen Tool you can just write in freehand.
